– Requirements on future diesel engines –
A vision of the future without diesel engines for several on- and off-highway applications is not realistic. Also with regard to ecological and economic targets, there are no alternatives for a number of applications.
Customer acceptance, however, requires further progress in terms of the – already excellent – efficiency of diesel engines and the reduction of critical emissions. It also has to be possible to add AdBlue at low temperatures.
Therefore, the activity of SCR systems is addressed here in the first place, especially with low emission temperatures in the particularly critical inner city areas.
For off-highway applications, the Stage V regulations with limits for particulate matter require the use of particulate filters in combination with SCR technology. With regard to available space, the trend towards filters with SCR coating will continue.
Newly developed and optimised substrate materials as well as first use in series production reveal the potential of this innovative technology. At this year’s conference, international experts will again talk about their experience and provide essential information for development engineers and decision makers. Furthermore, the programme also allows for face-to-face contacts and intense exchange of experiences.
